A bit of background about Streatley Pre-school…..
Streatley Pre-school is a charity. It was started in 1992 by a group of dedicated parents who wanted to provide a local early years education to pre-school children in Streatley. It first operated from Warren Farm, Streatley but was transferred to its current location in the grounds of Streatley Primary School in the mid nineties when a second hand Portakabin was sourced.
Since its inception, Streatley Pre-school has gone from strength to strength. It has an excellent local reputation is providing a safe and nurturing educational experience for the children by its dedicated staff. We are immensely popular and are oversubscribed with a waiting list.
The pre-school’s aim is to provide a safe, happy and stimulating environment in which children gain the confidence to learn via investigation and exploration, whilst having fun.
The pre-school is entirely run by a volunteer management committee composed of parents. This committee is governed by a Board of Trustees. The pre-school employs six professional staff. The building committee is also manned by parent volunteers.
The pre-school opens 9am to 11.30am, Monday to Friday with an optional lunch extension to 1.00pm on those five days. The vast majority of children who come to Streatley Pre-school then feed into Streatley Primary School.
Our recent OFSTED inspection in May 2009 rated us “Outstanding” and “Good” in every category. OFSTED noted the inadequacies of our current building in their report (something which we were all too aware of).
