Parent Feedback
The feedback shared below is our annual surveys.
"Chloe loves coming to the pre-school. I have seen her confidence grow over the past year, she is much happier to leave her immediate family and has made some lovely friendships" - Chloe's Parents
"Both Kitty and I were supported during our initial settling in period. I feel very comfortable leaving her in the care of the pre-school staff. Kitty's development is clear to see, both socially and educationally, from better interactions with her peers to ABC's and counting. I love the whiteboard updates at the end of the day" - Kitty's Mum.
"William has been very happy at the pre-school, my only concern was that William was the eldest and him getting bored. I would have liked to have seen a more divide between the 4 yrs old and the 2yrs old. However, he loves the people at pre-school and speaks highly of everyone" - William's Mum.
"Fantastic settling in visit where lots of questions were asked etc. Lola has settled in so well and I'm sure it is becuase Chrissy has always been there in the morning to welcome us in and be there for Lola - talking to her etc. I couldn't have asked/hoped for more - it's been brilliant, thank you" - Lola's Mum.
"There has been a lot of changes at the pre-school but all have been positive and both my children really enjoy it. The layout is a big improvement and Cheryl has done a great job since taking over as the leader. Alfie adores her. We feel the mix of free play and the more structured sessions are the perfect mix. The staff are always positive and friendly and the new layout works well given the space" - Finlay and Alfie's Parents.
"The last year has been great. Matilda started in January 2018 and very quickly settled into her new setting. She has made strong bonds with lots of the staff, not just her key worker (Cheryl). I like the soft start - helps Matilda to ease into the activity and separate from me with no tears. Good range of activities indoor and out. Great communication with parents - like the children's activity folder is updated regularly. I like the whiteboard outside at the end of the session with information of the days activities." - Elizabeth Brown.
"Streatley pre-school is the friendly home from home environment that I want for my children. Always a warm and friendly greeting, which means a lot to India and an amazingly varied and fun range of activities. The friendly + enthusiastic + caring staff and a very tidy setting makes for a calmer environment for the children. Good amount of activities and toy rotation." - Freya Barton.
"The last year has been brilliant for Henry and James. They have made friends, built their confidence, explored areas they haven't done at home before. All the staff have looked after their needs, they go in happy and come out happy. The staff take time understanding their characters, behaviour etc. Letting them play anything they choose. Cooking with children has got better, amazing what they can do. They have a vast range of plays, equipment and activities." Henry and James's Parents.
"Kyle has had an amazing year. He loves the teachers and setting. He has come along in leaps and bounds and truly has a joyful experience at the pre-school. We like the use of the facility, the new opportunities such as football, woodland walks, cooking and gardening." - Kyle's Parents.
"Anwen has really enjoyed starting her pre-school and seems to have settled in very quickly. She is always very excited to be going to school with its welcoming environment. The school makes good use of it's facilities and local area." - Anwen's Parent.
"Alice has settled into the pre-school so well. She loves spending time with her friends and it has given her the independence she craved. I like the structure provided to her at school. I think Alice benefits from knowing what is happening in the day and she is comfortable with a sense of routine." - Alice's Parent.
"The pre-school is excellent. Perdie settled in so quickly and has enjoyed it ever since. It's great to see her making friends and interacting with other children. I love the different activities they do. Woodland stuff!! football, cooking etc. Perdie is stimulated and always comes home tired after an action packed day. I've noticed that her alphabet and numerical skills are improving too." - Perdie's Parent.
We value your feedback and appreciate the time you take to give a comprehensive one - Cheryl

“My twin girls are currently in their second year at Streatley Pre-school. We live outside the area but chose Streatley because of its safe and stimulating environment.
Iris loved it from day one, she has formed a close bond with her key worker Sophie and most recent one Annie. She frequently talks about them, other staff, her friends and the various activities she does there.
Florence who has global developmental delay took a little while to settle, but because of all the enthusiastic, dedicated and caring staff she is now thriving and happy to be there. Her key worker Karen regularly updates me on any issues Florence has. She has worked closely with myself and Florence's EYSENIT teacher to identify her individual needs. Florence has made so much progress and I would like to thank Karen and all of her staff that have helped to achieve this.
This pre-school is outstanding and I am very fortunate that my girls are able to attend.”
Jan 2015 Tannie - Mum of Iris and Florence

“We LOVE Preschool. It is such a happy, friendly place. This is Gus' 3rd week at Preschool - he has (with no words) demanded to stay for lunch and extend his sessions. He is always happy for me to go, happy when I arrive, happy to come back again. What better testimonial than a happy 28 month old. Thank you all.”
Jan 2015 Caroline, Mum of Gus age 2
"Streatley Preschool has been fantastic for Xanthe, as she has loved going and has made so many friends. Everyone involved should be very proud of the environment they have created, offering a wonderful reflection of the wider community and providing a place where any parent would be happy to have their child attend."
Jan 2015 Leanne, Mum of Xanthe age 4
“Patrick adores Streatley Hill pre-school. He has made so many lovely friends and enjoys all aspects of his day, whether it is garden fun in the mud kitchen, any form of vehicle action or indoor craft activities. He particularly enjoys having his packed lunch with friends and snuggling on the mats for a story. Thank you so much for making it such a fabulous experience for him and also for me - I can relax knowing he is happy and I feel supported by the staff who deal with all of my little queries without hesitation. I can't wait for my younger son to start!”
Jan 2015 Catherine, Mum of Patrick, age 3
“My son has been coming to Streatley Hill Pre School for 4 terms now. He is so settled there in so many ways. He is confident to talk to and ask the staff when he has a problem or wants to share something with them. He has made so many friendships too which is lovely. He now stays for lunch on one day which he loves doing and has started to give him a little bit of independence. When I pick him up, his key worker always gives me feedback on the day and tells me how he has been. He has his own folder crammed with photos and annotations of activities he has taken part in which is so special to look through plus shows me progression of this time here.”
Jan 2015 Claire, Mum of Tom, age 3
“Streatley Hill Pre-school is an excellent pre-school! The level of care and expertise of the staff is second to none and Thomas has massively grown in confidence, independence and developed his literacy and numeracy skills since starting Pre-school. Karen Hardwick in particular has been instrumental in helping Thomas get ready for school and going far beyond what she needs to do to make sure he gets the most out of his pre-school experience. I don’t live in Streatley but chose this Pre-school over 10 other settings as it was head and shoulders better than the others. A big thank you to all the amazing staff!”
Dec 2014 Carolyn, Mum of Thomas, age 4
“Toby had a bit of an unexpected wobble in his fourth term at preschool, crying at drop off for a few weeks which was hard for both him and me. I could only leave him as I knew he would be given a massive cuddle until he felt better. The staff are very caring and they often rang me within the hour to tell me how he was getting on. His key worker Karen kept me well informed on how he was doing each week and now he is totally resettled and busy making Christmas cakes, space paintings and other things that seem to involve green paint! “

The transition from Streatley Pre-School to Streatley '
BIG' school has been seamless for Florence, she has not given it a second
thought. The Pre-School are so lucky to be close to the main
school and this is a great benefit for the children to be able to see the
older children across the way. That said, Karen & her team have also worked
tirelessly for the past 6 months to ensure our children make the jump to
primary school without actually realising its such a big step. Lots of visits, meeting the teachers &
light discussions, it is very obvious to see that the children are relaxed
& excited about September.
Florence's Mum, August 2014
Anna started preschool just after her 2nd birthday & has loved her time there. The staff have been exceptional, the setting stimulating & as a result she is interested in learning, has made special friends & most importantly had a lot of fun!
Thank you for your excellent care.
Anna's Mum, July 2014
Toby absolutely loves Pre-School. Each time I collect him he literally bounces up and down with excitement telling me about everything he has done. He particularly enjoys having his packed lunch there and thinks it is a massive treat to be able to stay for it! He has bonded well with all the teachers and particularly his key worker Karen. He often tells me what 'his friend' Karen has said or done and if we see her in the street he always says 'Mummy that is MY KAREN'. As a parent, I feel very lucky to have a local Pre-School with such exceptional teachers, all with differing skills and qualities.
Toby's Mum, May 2014
She’s loving Pre School and is really, really happy there with you and making superb progress. Thanks again to you and your team.

When we moved back form living in Asia with three young children it's fair to say we were all quite daunted by the prospects of schooling. But since we found Streatley Pre School our youngest Malita has been most happy. The staff are extremely caring and have made her very welcome. Mornings are never a problem as she is always happy to go. She has made many new friends and is learning her new language at an incredible rate. It's a credit to the work they do.
Paul, dad of Malita, age 3 July 2013
We have recently moved to the area and enrolled our daughter in the pre-school. The staff have been extremely welcoming and caring – they have done everything possible to make her settling in process go as smoothly as possible. I have been very impressed by the continuity of care between various staff members and how much time and effort they have put into getting to know her and identifying (and encouraging) her strengths. Heather loves the freedom she has to choose her own activities at pre-school, and the various visits, visitors and special activities. She will be attending Streatley Primary School in the fall, and the pre-school is going to great lengths to make this transition go well too – she can’t wait to go to “big school” with her new friends!
Kelley, mum of Heather, age 4 July 2013
Ellie is very happy at pre school and runs up the path every morning as she looks forward to going. Her language skills have come on leaps and bounds and she sings a lovely song about washing her hands that she learnt at pre school. She's made some great friends and she often talks about the staff and calls them her friends.
Janine, mum of Ellie, age 2 June 2013
Albert started Pre School as one of the youngest and least confident, not at all keen to be parted from me but the caring staff handled the goodbyes in an expert way and he now barely bats an eyelid when I leave him. As the terms have progressed he has grown in confidence and I have really noticed a difference in many developmental areas. Streatley Hill Pre School provides a wonderful relaxed environment for learning with excellent facilities but what really makes the difference is the staff who go out of their way to ensure the children's time there is full of fun and new experiences within a loose framework of structure and discipline. I feel so fortunate that this fabulous facility is on our door step.
Emma, mum of Albert, age 4 June 2013
‘My daughter has been attending Streatley Hill Pre-School since she was two and has enjoyed it from her very first day. She is now three and a half and talks about the staff and her friends there all the time when she is at home. She is disappointed when it is not a pre-school day and can't wait to be back there!’
Polly, mum of Nancy, age 3. May 2013
Jay has grown enormously in confidence through pre-school and it is great to see him making friends and really enjoying it. I love the way children can go freely in and out of the garden and have led activities into the woods, to the post box, to look for signs and more. I think that as he has had such positive experiences at pre-school he will make the transition to school easily and know that it is something he will enjoy. I think the staff at the pre-school are exceptional and this is what makes the school as great as it is.
Heather, mum of Jay, age 4 May 2013
‘Anna is thriving & enjoying the sociable, stimulating environment. It's lovely to have a child at such a positive, vibrant preschool & has made the transition back to work much easier!’

She's made some great friends and she often talks about the staff and calls them her friends.

‘My daughter has been attending Streatley Hill Pre-School since she was two and has enjoyed it from her very first day. She is now three and a half and talks about the staff and her friends there all the time when she is at home. She is disappointed when it is not a pre-school day and can't wait to be back there!’

‘Anna is thriving & enjoying the sociable, stimulating environment. It's lovely to have a child at such a positive, vibrant preschool & has made the transition back to work much easier!’
