Our bid to replace our current building OR be forced to close …..
Our proposal is to replace our current building and build an attractive, modular building in the same location in the grounds of Streatley Primary School which will not only provide up-to-date child care facilities to enable us to meet the Government's requirements in delivering the Early Years Foundation Curriculum, but could also t provide a venue for certain outreach services to meet the early years needs of the village.
The current building is now rapidly deteriorating. Should we not be able to replace our building soon, the pre-school will be forced to close. There are three very good reasons for supporting this project:
1. Streatley Pre-school prides itself on offering a high quality pre-school education to all the children aged 2 to 4 years in our village and has built up an excellent local reputation through years of hard work by our dedicated and long serving staff.
2. Streatley Pre-school employs six staff, all local to the area, who would lose their jobs should the pre-school close.
3. Streatley Pre-school actively strengthens our community because it offers young parents an opportunity (sometimes, their first) to do voluntary work through the management committee and so acts as a catalyst for parents to give time to other clubs and societies in Goring and Streatley as their families grow.
